Walking over to the SIGINT console he met Specialist Elsworth and
Lieutenant Grimsborne, "where are we at breaking the Romulan jammers?"
Jade asked looking at the two people working on the console.
"Slow we're still searching for what frequency there using, but they
could using multiple frequency or even switching between frequencies."
Grimsborne said turing to face Jade and handing her a PADD of what
they've tried before, "have you seen anyone using multiple or
switching between frequencies to jam communications before?"
Grimsborne asked.
"Sort of, but it failed they couldn't keep it up. But they didn't have
enough power to keep that many frequencies they were using." Jade
said, "we need to find a way flush the system of the frequencies the
Romulans are using because it's going to take too long to find
frequency that's not being jammed by the Romulans." Jade said reading
over the PADD that she was handed.
The Specialist looked up, "I might have an idea where potentially
could get semi-communications back." Elsworth said and then continued,
"we could run a cycling program meaning when we send a message it
would never stay on one frequency for that long which means we could
potentially get messages out." Elsworth finished.
"That good work, but how would we let the other Federation ships know
what they need to do if we can't communicate with them?" Jade asked
more to herself, but loud enough for the two could hear her. A few
minuets passed in silence while they were all thinking, "hey bring up
the specifications of our communication buoys?" Jade asked.
"Sure." Grimsborne said as he started typing at the console, "here
they are." Grimsborne said, "if you're thinking what I think you're
thinking it won't work. There's no way for a communication probe to
cut through the static that the Romlans are making." Grimsborne
bringing up another screen showing some of the tests and experiments
with the idea that Jade had. They covered from increasing the power to
using mixtures of frequencies.
"Damn." Jade said scrolling through the list, "wait there is one thing
they didn't try communication jamming takes power and the only thing
we've that can cut power off is a EM field the problem with that is
that we risk the EM field hitting our ships which means communications
will the least of our worries." Jade said. Jade walked over to a table
that also was running the SIGINT both Elsworth and Grimsborne followed
Jade.
Jade pushed a few buttons and all of the information they looking at
popped up on the table top, but she put the communication probe on the
holo-emitter, so that they could get a 3D view of it, "alright to get
that cycling program up and running we first need to get the other
ships of the fleet of this plan. And do that this communication probe
is the answer." Jade said looking at the rotating communication probe
looking for a way to get it to help the situation.
