[USS Chimera] SD 240902.20 || Narendra Mission || EA Amb Ayanami, Fed Capt Chisulo, & KDF Cmdr Kortag'h ||

[Runabout Fenrir - Narendra System]

Chisulo stepped off the transporter pad and ripped the balaclava off his face as he approached the front of the craft. Jackson sat in the command seat, Kortag'h to his right. The Captain pushed the intelligence officer to the side and opened a channel to the incoming fighter.

"Ambassador Ayanami. Please halt your progress." Chisulo called over the audio only channel. "We are in a delicate operation and cannot afford discovery."

Kortag'h looked up at the mention of the Ambassador's name. "The Hybrid?" he questioned.

Chisulo nodded to his friend as he awaited the Ambassador's reply.

Alecto gave a small snort of amusement at Chisulo's request. "Much as I love your insinuation of my incompetence, you are already discovered.  There are at least two Squadrons of Romulan Scorpions moving in from the planet and the asteroid belt and I wouldn't place bets about a cloaked Warbird or two following.  Trust me, these guys were alerted to you're presence far in advance of us four showing up.  I'd assume they've scrambled some further reinforcements too so if you want us to cover you I suggest you get your arses in the air pronto as a sitting target is impossible to cover.  We've called the cavalry in but I've no idea when they'll get here."

Chisulo waved to Jackson the second the hybrid ambassador mentioned the in-bound squadrons. As she reached the end of her dialogue he saw the confirmation on the intelligence officer's screen. His mind raced, calculating the most likely time of detection to be during the emergency beam out that close to the computer core. He should have known better, but self-criticism would have to wait - if there would be time for it at all.

"I don't think we can afford to wait on your calvary, Ambassador." Chisulo replied calmly over the line. He turned to the others two members of his make-shift crew. "Commanders, if you could get the remaining combat kits in the back."

Kortag'h nodded and got up from his chair, proceeding with Faulkner to the back of the runabout to retrieve the combat kits.

Alecto said "As I'm sure a clever individual like yourself will know phaser rifles won't do a thing against a fighter...so care to tell me what you're up to Captain?"

"I'm continuing my mission, Ambassador. Though on a quicker pace than I had originally planned." He took the seat vacated by Kortag'h and transferred the helm controls over. He hit full impulse on a trajectory toward a point 100 kilometers "above" the station. Jackson looked at him puzzled.

"You ain't gonna retreat, Captain?" Jackson asked, as the two commanders Faulkner and Kortag'h came in from the weapons lockers in the back.

Chisulo responded, though he didn't remove his eyes from the flight plan he was conducting. "The good ambassador knows as well as I that a danube class runabout, no matter how many times its engines are upgraded, can not compete with the superior cochrane output of a scorpion fighter. They'd be on us before we can get past Narendra VI."

"So what are we doing, sir?" Faulkner asked, slinging the phaser rifle of his shoulder.

"What is it your people say Kortag'h?" Chisulo called over his shoulder.

"Today is a good day to die," Kortag'h grinned as he spoke.

"Ambassador, can you run a distraction on the planet side of the base?" Chisulo asked.

"We'll do what we can but we're going to be very badly out numbered real soon."  Alecto replied.

"Thanks." Chisulo replied. He looped in an arc to make a two-hundred and seventy degree turn for a direct course at the top of the station. He reached a hand over to an auxiliary screen and pulled up the station's schematics - eying a particular target at the top.

Alecto broke right leading her fighters around to the planet side of the station.

The station grew closer and closer on Chisulo's screen, until it became clear to Faulkner where Chisulo was heading. "Holy shit." Faulkner said. "You better buckle up Kortag'h. He's heading for the conference room viewports."

"d'Hujok," Kortagh muttered rudely under his breath as he tightened his bat'leth strap and reached for the reinforced gravity buckles on the chair.

Chisulo punched the throttle of the runabout on its final trajectory. The large viewports of the klingon station grew closer and closer until he could see the scrambling figures inside. Then he cut the engines and fired the reverse thrusters hard.

The runabout Fenrir plowed through the reinforced composite windows and structural integrity field, smashing the large wooden klingon conference table into thousands of shattered splinters. The vacuum created by the entry violently tore apart the room until the emergency force-fields sealed the gap.

There was a moments calm until the side hatch of the broken runabout opened up. Chisulo's boot hit the deck plating first, crunching on the debris. He held his phaser rifle at the ready, Kortag'h just behind him.

"Lets find that General." Chisulo said.
