After spending close to ten hours cataloguing and scanning the debris
from the outpost Jade decided that they would finish up the first part
of the assignment she wanted to give an update to the Captain, she
knew that it was late, but she was hoping the Captain was in his ready
room. Walking up to the door Jade hit the chime she then looked around
the bridge realizing how quiet it was durning the late night shift.

Rojac was running through the departmental reports from the reason
battle that were strewn across his embedded desktop display. He used
the tactile interface to "stack" them over to the side while he
composed a conciliation letter to a crewman's next of kin. It was his
third of the day. He had gone through half of his five pound bag of
sumatran coffee in the hours since the battle, and was glad to have a
distraction when he heard the chime sound. "Come." He replied.

Stepping into the ready room for the first time since becoming a crew
member of the Chimera, "Evening Captain." Jade said walking up to his
desk.

"Good evening, Lieutenant." Rojac responded genially with a broad grin
beneath the whiskers of his beard. "Have you come to add to my stack
of paper work?" He asked, jokingly referring to the padd in her hands.

"Um depending on how you look at it." Jade said with a smile, "just
wanted to stop by ad update you on how we're fairing with the debris."
Jade said producing a PADD and handing it to the Captain.

He took the offered padd, and set in on his desktop without looking at
it. Instead, he gestured to position opposite his at the large wooden
desk to the chair with the dark brown leather cushions.

"Would you care for a cup of coffee, Lieutenant?" He asked. "Grown on
the Earth island of Sumatra. I had your quartermaster send up my
personal stockpile of the stuff after the battle this morning."

"Yes sir." Jade said taking a seat, "how's the ship faring after the
battle?" Jade asked.

"Great." Rojac responded. "Even with the Romulan's new class of
disruptor, the shields held up remarkably well. As I'm sure you
noticed. You didn't have to transfer so much power to them." He
smiled. "Though, I noticed a lag time in the point defense programs on
the phaser arrays. I'm having Lieutenant Howard take a look at them to
see if he can remedy the situation. See if you can help him boost the
processing power if you have time."

"I'll get some personnel from beta shift and have them take a look at
it." Jade said.

"So tell me, Lieutenant." Rojac said, leaning back in his chair and
crossing his arms over his chest. "How do you think the mission went?
How well did the crew perform from your perspective?"

"As for the mission I think it went as well as it could've everything
that we thought might happened did and we were prepared for it." Jade
said she took a moment to think about the second part of the question,
"knowing that this was the first mission on a new ship I think the
crew did well they anticipated orders and reacted quickly and
effectively to yours and the XO's orders." Jade said.

"Well, I suppose that is all that is asked of them." He reached over and picked
up the padd she had given him earlier. "Thank you for the report,
Lieutenant. Now
go get some rest. It's late and its been a long day."

"Yes sir." Jade said smiling and standing up she headed for the door
she would make one stop before heading to her quarters she needed to
speak with LtJg Dexter with a small assignment that if he had time
during his shift he could start and then alpha shift could finish it
up.

"Dismissed." Rojac said with a grin.
